B&R Automation creates the 4XP0000.00-K39 as a 4XP keypad extension module that connects to PROFIBUS DP networks.
This device comes equipped with 24 configurable keys, which enable users to select it for industrial control tasks across different industries. The device works with two data frame presets, including 6 input data bytes plus 12 output bytes and 4 input bytes joined with 10 output bytes. Digital input data flows into word registers at address 0 while digital output data flows out through their word registers. Both types of registers help manage key inputs and LED outputs precisely. The PROFIBUS DP communication system uses a DP frame data structure to enable fast and dependable interaction between the bus controller and the module. The module includes hardware components that turn digital input signals into key detection results while controlling the LED display status. The I/O power supply in the bus system provides 24 VDC power output to operate the module. The device preserves energy efficiency by using only 170 mA of power, which allows it to maintain its operational performance. The module tolerates brief 20 A power spikes of less than 1 millisecond that need consideration during system startup.
