B & R Automation designed and produced the 4XP0000.00-K28 Keypad Module for the different applications of industrial automation. It includes one green LED for running indication and one red LED for error status. The interface operates as an X2X slave with reliable communication performance. It uses an 8-pin male multipoint connector for the X2X interface.

The internal bus power supply of the 4XP0000.00-K28 keypad module is active and supports power-sharing between stations. The distance between connected stations can reach up to 100 meters. The module has no electrical isolation between the interface and internal circuits. It features four illuminated ring keys for interactive operation and input. Each key is independently colored in red, green, or yellow. The nominal voltage input of the 4XP0000.00-K28 keypad module is 24 VDC with a ±25% tolerance. Its inrush current is rated at a maximum of 20 A under 1 millisecond. A normal operation draws a maximum current of 170 mA during use. This module front provides IP65 protection against dust and low-pressure water. According to UL 50, the unit complies with NEMA 250 type 4X standards. It is protected against hose-directed water and small particles during industrial use. The operating temperature ranges between 0 to +50 degrees Celsius.
