Product Description:
The 4XP0000.00-K74 keypad module is produced by B&R Automation as part of the 4XP Keypad Modules series. It serves as a compact operator interface that places dedicated push buttons and status LEDs directly on the machine, allowing users to trigger sequences or acknowledge alarms at the point of operation instead of returning to a central HMI. This layout supports local control on stations where quick operator access is important during setup, routine operation, or fault response. The integrated indicators also give immediate visual confirmation of machine states close to the active work area.
Electrically, the module is fed with 18–30 VDC, which allows for moderate line drop. Under full key illumination, it draws up to 320 mA. Data exchange runs on the X2X backplane, and the unit registers as a X2X slave, occupying one node on the cyclic bus. The housing has IP65 protection on both the front and back, so the keypad can be cleaned with sprayed water when the gasket is properly seated. Rated operation is guaranteed from 0 to +50 °C, which suits typical industrial control environments. Supply and bus connections enter through a 4-pin M12 connector, and the module can be installed as far as 100 m from the controller without repeaters.
Mechanical integration is supported by an enclosure depth of 52.6 mm, so it fits shallow door pockets while still leaving room for bent cables behind the M12 plug. The front profile measures 77 mm in width and 123 mm in height, allowing it to share common cutouts with other 4XP bodies and maintain consistent spacing on operator panels. With a mass of only 450 g, the keypad can be mounted on lightweight aluminum structures without adding significant load to hinged supports or swing arms. Storage is permitted from -20 to +60 °C without condensation concerns, which helps protect spare units before installation. The compact housing also makes the module suitable for machines where panel space is limited but direct push-button access is still required.
