The 4XP0000.00-K21 keypad module is produced by B and R Automation for the 4XP Keypad Modules series. As a decentralized operator panel, it functions as a human-machine interface in distributed control systems where commands move over the X2X real-time bus. Mounted on machine doors or cabinets, it places illuminated keys and an emergency stop close to the process.
Electrically, the module uses a nominal supply of 24 VDC ±25% and draws only 240 mA, allowing several stations to share a power source. Communication is handled through an X2X slave interface, which supports deterministic exchange over lengths up to 100 m between nodes. A front-mounted 8-pin male multipoint connector carries power, bus signals, and I/O through one plug. The front face is rated IP65, so it tolerates wash-down exposure.
Rear components are rated IP20 once enclosed, and the overall depth is only 32 mm, helping the unit fit shallow door profiles. The panel includes 6 illuminated ring keys that provide clear tactile input, and their LED inserts can display red, green, or yellow to reflect machine status.
