B&R Automation manufactures the 4PPC70.101G-23W in its 4PPC Power Panels series. This unit combines control processing and visualization in a single enclosure so it can run machine sequences while presenting status data on an integrated touch display, removing the need for a separate PLC and HMI pair in compact automation cells. By placing the controller and user interface in one housing, it reduces panel complexity and shortens the path between logic execution and operator input.
The panel is built around a Atom E620T processor that operates at 333 MHz, and this clock rate is supported by 256 MB DRAM to host the runtime environment and application code. Nonvolatile storage includes 2 GB eMMC for firmware and user programs plus 32 kB of FRAM for retained variables that must survive power loss, and the eMMC endures 20,000 erase/write cycles with a cumulative write volume of 40 TB. A 1024 × 600 resolution TFT color screen renders the user interface, while one CAN bus port and one RS485 port provide field connectivity for drives, sensors, or remote I/O.
