This layout suits packaging lines, assembly machines, and material-handling stations where local control and operator access are needed at the same location. Because the controller and interface are integrated, status display and machine commands can be handled from the same panel position instead of through separate hardware.
The unit is driven by an Atom E620T processor clocked at 333 MHz, providing deterministic cycle times for mid-range motion and process control tasks. Its system memory includes 256 MB of DRAM for runtime data and a nonvolatile 2 GB eMMC device for application code, recipes, and archived process information. An additional 32 kB FRAM stores variables that must survive power cycling without battery support. The integrated TFT display renders at 800 x 480 pixels, giving operators clear status graphics and readable control screens. Standard networking is handled through Ethernet, while dedicated POWERLINK and X2X Link connections support real-time communication with distributed devices and local drive components.
