The 4PPC70.0573-22W operator terminal is produced by B & R Automation and belongs to the 4PPC Power Panels series. It combines an embedded controller, touch display, and communication ports inside a single panel-mount housing so that a machine builder can run control logic, display process values, and accept operator input without adding a separate PLC or industrial PC. By mounting it on the front of a cabinet, the unit shortens cable runs and leaves more space for power components inside the enclosure. This arrangement also places control and visualization functions in one device at the machine interface.
An Intel Atom E620T processor driven at 333 MHz executes the application code, supporting responsive control and visualization tasks. Runtime variables are stored in 256 MB of DRAM, while the operating system and project files reside in a 2 GB eMMC flash device that tolerates repeated writes during software updates and normal data storage. For instantaneous power-off recording of counters, the panel carries 32 kB of FRAM. Ethernet traffic moves through a 10/100 Mbit/s port, and separate CAN and RS-232 lines provide fieldbus links to drives or legacy nodes. The electronics draw up to 14.4 W from a 24 V DC supply that may vary from −15% to +20% without functional loss, allowing direct connection to standard control-cabinet power rails.
A backlight rated at 400 cd/m² illuminates the 5.7 in analog-resistive touchscreen, and its VGA-class 640 × 480 resolution supports detailed alarm and trend pages. The front bezel carries a Front IP65 / Back IP20 protection rating, so it blocks dust and low-pressure water jets on the operator side while relying on cabinet air for the rear. Reliable operation is specified from 0 °C to 50 °C, and the 172 × 140 × 51 mm form factor fits shallow panels. The touch interface allows direct screen input for machine status, settings, and operating pages.
