B&R Automation's 4PPC70.0573-20B belongs to the 4PPC Power Panels series and functions as a compact operator interface with an integrated controller. The unit combines a touch display, a PLC-grade CPU, and onboard memory so it can host machine logic and present status graphics in one enclosure. In industrial automation, this consolidation reduces cabinet space and wiring, allowing the panel to handle real-time task scheduling, user interaction, and data exchange with higher-level networks.
At the core, an Atom E620T processor clocked at 333 MHz executes deterministic control code. The CPU is paired with 256 MB of DDR DRAM for volatile data handling, while application files and the operating system reside on 2 GB eMMC flash for local storage. Visual feedback is provided by a 5.7-inch TFT color display that renders at 640 × 480 pixels, giving enough resolution for multi-page diagnostic screens without scaling artifacts. Additional memory includes 512 kB of L2 cache and 32 kB of nonvolatile FRAM for high-speed retain variables. Two USB 2.0 ports on the rear edge support recipe import, keyboard connection, or data logging to external drives. The analog resistive touch interface lets operators issue commands even when wearing standard industrial gloves.
