The 4PP480.1505-B5 is an operator interface panel in the 4PP Power Panels series from B & R Automation. It integrates a controller and display so a single device can visualize machine states, receive touch commands, and execute control logic at the equipment level of an automated line. Because the control hardware is built into the panel, local machine operation and screen-based interaction remain in one housing. The panel operates from a single 24 VDC supply, which simplifies cabinet wiring.
A Geode LX800 processor runs at 500 MHz, and this clock rate indicates how many instruction cycles the unit can complete each second and how quickly it can refresh on-screen data. The screen measures 15 in diagonally and renders an XGA image at 1024 × 768 pixels, giving operators a clear view of status graphics. A resistive analog touchscreen lets users make selections even while wearing gloves. Volatile working memory is provided by 128 MB SDRAM, while 512 kB of SRAM retains critical variables when power drops. System software resides in a 2 MB flash device, and 8 MB of shared graphics memory supports smooth screen transitions. Two aPCI expansion slots accept I/O or fieldbus cards for local signal handling, allowing the panel to support machine-level communication and control tasks in the same enclosure.
The aluminum front bezel carries a sealing gasket that achieves IP65 protection against dust and low-pressure water jets, allowing the panel to be mounted on a machine door without extra enclosures. A backlight rated at 350 cd/m² keeps the display readable under factory lighting. Physical dimensions of 435 mm in width and 330 mm in height, with a depth of 109 mm, determine the panel cutout and the enclosure space needed for installation. This front-mounted format is well suited to operator stations where direct access to controls and process visualization is needed during routine machine use.
