Product Description:
The 4PP480.1043-75/PL3 is a combined control and visualization unit manufactured by B & R Automation as part of its 4PP Power Panels series. By integrating a PLC-class processor with a touch display, the panel supplies machine builders with localized sequence control, motion coordination, and operator feedback in one enclosure. Mounted in the door cutout of a control cabinet, it serves as the primary human-machine interface, issuing setpoints to drives, monitoring field signals, and presenting process status on the built-in screen. This integrated arrangement reduces the need for a separate operator terminal in compact machine layouts.
The transmissive TFT display spans 10.4 in (264 mm) diagonally, providing a native resolution of 640 x 480 pixels; this VGA format allows uncomplicated graphic design while keeping memory use moderate for the onboard controller. Luminance reaches 350 cd/m², so the content remains legible under factory lighting, and a contrast ratio of 600:1 preserves clear separation between dark background elements and alarm colors. The aluminum front panel carries a sealing gasket that achieves IP65 / NEMA 250 Type 4X, meaning dust ingress is blocked and water jets from washdown cleanup will not reach internal circuitry. Behind the bezel, an Elo serial 12-bit controller scans the analog-resistive touchscreen for precise coordinate input.
The white LED backlight is rated for 50000 hours, supporting long service intervals before brightness falls below design values. Control electronics draw from a nominal supply of 24 VDC ±25%, giving installers latitude when wiring long 24-volt bus runs or battery-backed sources. Two rear Type-A receptacles expose 2 high-speed USB host channels, each capable of 480 Mbit/s transfer for recipe handling and local data exchange. The electronic and optical components are specified to operate without derating at elevations up to 3000 m, supporting worldwide deployment in elevated production facilities.
