Product Description:
The 4PP452.0571-75 is a compact operator terminal produced by B & R Automation in the 4PP Power Panels series. This human-machine interface combines an embedded CPU, memory, and I/O expansion in one housing, so it drives small to mid-range machines without a separate industrial PC. Within an automation cell it presents process data, accepts touch or key input, and forwards commands to servo drives or safety controllers. The integrated format reduces separate hardware in the enclosure and keeps operator interaction close to the controlled process.
Its Geode LX800 processor runs at 500 MHz and is paired with 128 MB of SDRAM to execute visualization, recipe handling, and communication tasks without external PCs. The panel stores application code in 2 MB of flash and retains variables in 512 kB of SRAM for power-cycle persistence. A 5.7-inch TFT color display provides a native resolution of 320 x 240 pixels, and this QVGA format balances graphic detail with deterministic refresh times. The physical diagonal of 5.7 in keeps the unit small enough for cabinet doors while leaving sufficient space for soft keys and status fields. Luminance reaches 500 cd/m², allowing clear readability under factory lighting.
System interfaces include an 10/100 Mbit/s Ethernet port for real-time fieldbus gateways, an RS232 serial channel for legacy drives, and two USB connectors for program updates or data logging. One APCI slot expands I/O or motion modules directly on the panel. The front foil achieves IP65 protection, guarding the screen and keypad against dust and low-pressure water jets encountered on packaging or washdown equipment. With a contrast ratio of 350:1, the display differentiates foreground objects from backgrounds even as ambient light shifts. The electronics draw control power from a nominal 24 VDC source, simplifying wiring because the value matches standard machine power supplies. This mix of interfaces lets the panel connect to modern networks while still supporting peripheral devices already used on existing equipment.
