Product Description:
The 4PP451.0571-65 is an operator panel produced by B & R Automation in the 4PP Power Panels series. It combines HMI functionality with onboard control, so machinery builders can execute logic, visualize processes, and handle communication from a single device mounted on the machine front. This integration lowers cabinet space and simplifies wiring compared with separate display and PLC hardware.
Its computing core is a Geode LX800 500 MHz 32-bit x86 processor that executes the runtime and user program. The CPU is paired with 64 MB of DDRAM for dynamic variables and with 2 MB of flash memory that stores the application image and BIOS. Operators view process data on a TFT display that renders a QVGA 320 × 240-pixel matrix; color depth reaches 256 shades and luminance is 140 cd/m² for readability. The active touch surface measures 5.7 in (144 mm), giving room for function keys and trend graphs without enlarging the cutout. Two USB ports allow recipe transfer, while an RS232 channel operating at 115 kBaud links barcode readers or drives. Nonvolatile counters or system logs can be cached in the 512 KB SRAM between power cycles.
Electrical supply is a nominal 24 VDC, letting the panel share the same low-voltage rail as sensors and actuators. Network access is available through an RJ45 connector that auto-negotiates 10/100 Mbps Ethernet for PLC, MES, or SCADA traffic. The front bezel carries a sealing gasket that ensures IP65 protection against dust and water jets, whereas the rear section is rated IP20 for enclosure mounting. Continuous operation is specified up to a height of 3000 m, so the unit can be installed in elevated production sites without derating. Once bolted in place, the front connectors remain accessible for updates and data transfer without dismantling the enclosure.
