The 4PP420.1043-K26 is a combined operator interface and compact controller manufactured by B & R Automation for the 4PP Power Panels series. Mounted on a machine enclosure, it runs local control logic while presenting process data on a color touchscreen. This arrangement gives direct access to start, stop, and diagnostic functions without requiring an external PC. By combining control and visualization in one housing, the panel fits machines that need a self-contained interface at the point of operation.
This panel is powered from a regulated input of 24 VDC, allowing direct connection to common control-cabinet supplies. A Geode LX800 CPU clocks at 500 MHz, and its program and runtime data are buffered by 128 MB of SDRAM and 512 kB of SRAM, providing sufficient space for HMI objects and motion sequences. Graphics are rendered at 640 × 480 px, and the backlight produces 450 cd/m² so the display stays legible in brightly lit work areas. Serial communications with legacy devices are handled through an RS232 port, while USB receptacles accept service media or peripheral input. A Type I CompactFlash slot provides removable mass storage for recipe files, and the combination of onboard memory and removable storage supports local application data handling.
The front bezel carries a protection rating of IP65, sealing the screen and keys against dust and water jets encountered on packaging lines and washdown conveyors. A resistive touch sensor registers commands during gloved operation, and the display has a diagonal of 10.4 in for a compact operator interface. Two onboard USB ports support barcode scanners or backup drives, and the TFT screen supports 262,144 colors for clear status indication across complex mimic diagrams. The color display helps separate alarms, operating states, and navigation elements on the screen. Illumination is supplied by an LED backlight that minimizes heat load and extends service life.
