The 4PP420.1043-B5 Power Panel is an integrated operator terminal produced by B&R Automation and belongs to the 4PP Power Panels series. It merges control computing, field communication, and a graphical touch display into one compact device for machine-level automation. By acting as both display and controller, the panel enables direct execution of visualization, motion coordination, and logic tasks on production equipment, reducing cabinet space and wiring compared with separate PC and PLC solutions. This arrangement keeps the user interface close to the control layer, which helps the machine respond quickly to screen commands and status changes.

Processing resources come from a Geode LX800 processor clocked at 500 MHz and supported by 128 MB of SDRAM plus 512 kB of SRAM for fast retentive data. Two APCI slots permit modular fieldbus or I/O expansion, while dual USB ports and a 10/100 Mbit/s Ethernet interface provide additional connectivity for programming and data exchange. The panel draws a nominal current of 0.71 A, and its overall power consumption is limited to 17 W, allowing passive cooling inside most cabinets. All electronics are supplied from a regulated 24 VDC source so the unit can share the same power rail as standard sensors and relays. The front-side touch screen uses analog resistive technology and presents a native resolution of 640 x 480 pixels for basic SCADA graphics and alarm dialogs.

Usability in harsh shop-floor zones is supported by a front protection rating of IP65, which guards the display against dust ingress and low-pressure water spray. The 10.4-inch TFT panel has a diagonal of 10.4 in (264 mm) and is backlit to reach a brightness of 450 cd/m², which helps maintain clear visibility under ambient light from overhead fixtures. Together with the analog resistive touch layer, this screen allows gloved operation so users can adjust setpoints, acknowledge alarms, or step through recipes without removing protective gear.
