The 4PP420.0571-K16 panel is a combined operator interface and embedded controller produced by B & R Automation within the 4PP Power Panels series. Designed for machine-level use, it presents process data, status messages, and command keys on an integrated screen while running the application code that drives the connected actuators and sensors. The compact format lets OEMs build a complete HMI and PLC solution into the door of a cabinet, reducing wiring and saving space in packaging, material-handling, and assembly cells.
Its monochrome LCD measures 5.7 in diagonally and renders graphics at QVGA resolution, giving 320 × 240 pixels that are adequate for simple synoptic views and alarm lists. A resistive touch screen sits in front of the glass so operators can acknowledge alerts or enter setpoints even when wearing gloves. Runtime tasks execute in 128 MB of SDRAM, while retentive process variables reside in 512 kB of battery-backed SRAM. Communication to supervisory networks is available through the built-in Ethernet port that negotiates 10/100 Mbit/s, allowing the panel to join either 10-Base-T or 100-Base-TX segments. One APCI slot accepts a proprietary I/O or fieldbus module to expand local connectivity without enlarging the enclosure.
The front bezel carries an IP65 rating, so dust ingress and low-pressure water jets will not disrupt operation on the factory floor. Two USB host connectors let users upload recipes or retrieve log files without opening the cabinet. Legacy equipment can still be addressed through the dedicated serial channel that follows the RS232 standard. For removable storage, a CompactFlash slot accepts cards of Type I, providing a solid-state alternative to rotating media and maintaining vibration tolerance for mobile or high-impact machinery.
