The 4PP420.0571-K14 is an operator interface unit produced by B & R Automation within the 4PP Power Panels series. Its role in industrial automation is to present process data, accept operator input, and send real-time commands to connected drives or PLCs through onboard fieldbus and Ethernet ports. Computation is handled by a Geode LX800 processor clocked at 500 MHz; this x86-compatible CPU executes the runtime environment without an additional PC. Volatile program memory is supplied by 128 MB of SDRAM, while machine parameters and fault logs are stored in a battery-backed 512 kB SRAM block that retains data during power loss. The panel draws a nominal current of 0.5 A from the cabinet supply, and excess heat is removed passively through an aluminum heat sink, eliminating the need for fans.
