Product Description:
The 4PP420.0571-B5 operator interface panel is produced by B & R Automation and is part of the 4PP Power Panels series. It combines processing electronics, a touchscreen, and communication ports in one enclosure so it can manage visualization tasks and locally execute control logic within industrial automation cells. By placing computation and display functions at the machine, the unit reduces cabinet space and shortens signal paths between operator inputs and the controller. This integrated layout also helps simplify machine design when local access to process data and commands is required at the point of operation.
Inside the panel, a Geode LX800 processor runs at 500 MHz and is supported by 128 MB of SDRAM for program execution. An additional 512 kB of SRAM is available for fast data handling, while application code and the operating system are stored in 2 MB of Flash memory for local startup without an external drive. The 5.7-inch TFT display presents graphics at a native resolution of 320 × 240 pixels, which suits status screens, alarms, and basic control pages on compact equipment. Networked communication is handled through a 10/100 Mbit/s Ethernet interface, while two USB ports and an RS232 serial port support peripheral and legacy device connections. Two APCI slots are also available for fieldbus or I/O expansion so the panel can interface directly with machine-level signals.
The front surface carries an IP65 rating, allowing the panel to withstand washdown conditions on the machine face. Operator input is detected through analog, resistive touch technology, which allows screen operation even when gloves are worn. A backlight output of 500 cd/m² helps keep the display readable in areas with strong indoor lighting near production equipment. Total power draw stays at 12 W, which helps limit internal heat during continuous operation. The panel can therefore be mounted on equipment doors or similar surfaces where compact dimensions, clear visibility, and local control access are important.
