The 4PP420.0571-65 is a panel-mounted operator terminal produced by B&R Automation within the 4PP Power Panels series. This unit combines visualization, control logic, and field connectivity in one enclosure, letting machine builders place the HMI and PLC functions directly on the cabinet door. It is intended to execute application code, present process data on its graphical screen, and accept operator input through a resistive touch interface, thereby simplifying wiring and reducing control-panel depth in industrial automation systems.
The front face carries a color LCD that measures 5.7 in (144 mm) on the diagonal and renders graphics at QVGA 320 × 240 pixels. An analog, resistive touch screen overlays the display so that commands can be entered even when gloves are worn. Computation is handled by a Geode LX800 500 MHz 32-bit x86 processor supported by 512 kB of SRAM for high-speed variables. Program storage resides on internal Flash, while one CompactFlash Type I slot accepts removable media for recipe storage and data transfer. The panel runs from a 18–30 VDC supply and dissipates heat passively inside a die-cast housing that measures 212 × 156 × 76 mm. The molded bezel and gasket deliver IP65 / NEMA 250 type 4X protection at the front, enabling washdown installation in food, beverage, and packaging environments.
Field communication is available through a 10/100 Mbit/s Ethernet interface for TCP/IP-based networks and an RS232 port for legacy devices such as barcode readers. Two panel-edge USB connectors provide 2 USB ports that support USB 1.1 and USB 2.0 devices such as flash drives or service tools. One aPCI expansion slot accepts specialized I/O or bus transceivers when additional local functionality is required. The integrated semiconductor Flash offers 2 MB flash memory for application code, while high-speed SRAM supports fast variable access during operation.
