Product Description:

The 4PP420-0571-K04 is one of the most versatile power panels released under B&R Automation's PP420 family line. B&R Automation is famous for creating some of the best human machine interfaces, or simply HMIs, for industrial processes and systems. HMIs by B&R usually incorporate a built-in processor, memory chip set, communication interfaces, and, in some cases, function keys. Modern HMIs feature touch-screen technology, while others combine touch-screen functionality with a powerful set of function keys. The 4PP420-0571-K04 offers a 5.7-inch resistive touch screen that responds quickly and accurately to user input. The LCD display incorporated into the power panel features QVGA resolution, equivalent to 320 x 240 pixels.

The built-in processor for the 4PP420-0571-K04 is a Geode LX800 500 Mhz processor that meets the demands of modern industrial systems. It features 128 MB of synchronous dynamic random-access memory (SDRAM) that coordinates well with an external clock signal. As opposed to DRAMs, SDRAMs are faster and more reliable. The 4PP420-0571-K04 also offers 512 kB of SRAM, which also clears upon powering off the power panel. Generally, volatile memory types are suitable for power panels and HMIs because of their flexibility, speed, and efficiency. Permanent data is usually stored externally on a computer or disk that can handle large amounts of results and logs.

During operation, the 4PP420-0571-K04 also needs 24 volts of DC voltage. The communication and serial interfaces available in the 4PP420-0571-K04 are as follows: 2x USB 2.0, RS232, CompactFlash slot (type 1), and Ethernet (10/100 Mbps). With its construction and materials, the 4PP420-0571-K04's protection categories are IP 65 (front) and IP 20 (back).
