Product Description:
The 4PP381.1043-31 is an integrated operator panel from B & R Automation in the 4PP Power Panels series. The device combines an embedded controller with a color touchscreen, giving equipment builders a single component for visualization, data entry, and local sequence control. It links directly to PLC networks, drives, and sensors to present process values, accept commands, and issue alarms. A compact, panel-mount housing allows installation on cabinet doors to keep wiring short and access easy.
Processing tasks are handled by a Geode LX800 CPU clocked at 500 MHz, providing adequate bandwidth for real-time graphics and control logic. The panel carries 128 MB of SDRAM for program execution and buffering, while 2 MB of onboard flash stores the runtime image; a CompactFlash Type I slot supports removable media for backups or updates. One Ethernet port enables deterministic fieldbus or TCP/IP communication, and two USB ports simplify service tool connection. The analog-resistive touch screen accepts finger or stylus input even through thin gloves. Visual output appears on a 10.4 in TFT with a 640 × 480 pixel matrix, a format that balances detail and controller memory use. During normal operation, the unit draws 0.45 A from the control circuit.
For factory environments that demand clear status displays, the panel’s backlight reaches 450 cd/m², maintaining readability under overhead lighting. The glass and bezel carry a front rating of IP65, so dust and water jets do not penetrate while the rear remains inside the cabinet. It operates directly from a 24 VDC supply and typically dissipates only 10 W, which minimizes heat load in sealed enclosures. At 4,600 g, the housing can be mounted on swing arms or door surfaces without additional reinforcement.
