The 4PP380.1043-K03 is an operator panel in the 4PP Power Panels series from B & R Automation. In one compact housing, it combines visualization, user input, and embedded control so machines and production lines can be monitored and commanded directly on the cabinet door. This gives operators direct access to process screens, alarm messages, and routine machine commands at the point of use. Within an automation architecture, the unit serves as the local human-machine interface, taking basic control tasks away from higher-level PLCs and reducing internal wiring.

The front display measures 10.4 in diagonally, providing a screen that fits comfortably into standard 300 mm wide doors. Graphic detail is rendered at VGA (640 x 480), a resolution that matches many established SCADA symbol libraries and limits processor overhead. Electronics are supplied by a regulated 24 VDC rail, so it can tie straight into typical control-cabinet power buses. Thermal energy is removed through a passive heat-sink design, eliminating fans and the need for filter maintenance while allowing sealed-enclosure mounting. For networked control, the integrated Ethernet controller handles 10/100 Mbit/s communications, supporting TCP/IP links to drives, PLCs, and supervisory computers.

The panel offers two USB 2.0 host ports for program loading, recipe transfer, or scanner attachment, and legacy equipment can connect through the dedicated RS-232 serial channel. An internal slot accepts a Type I CompactFlash card, giving removable storage for application code and long-term data logging. The rear has 2 x 16-digit mode or node switches that allow station addressing and boot-mode selection without software tools, which simplifies setup and reduces configuration errors. Rear access to these switches keeps addressing and startup functions separate from the main touchscreen area.
