The 4PP352.0571-35 operator panel is produced by B & R Automation as part of the 4PP Power Panels series. Intended for machine-mounted human-machine interaction, the unit merges control electronics, a touch display, and field interfaces in one sealed enclosure. Within an automation cell, it serves as the local visualization node, executes lightweight control routines, and forwards status data to supervisory systems through its built-in Ethernet controller and serial line. The combination of processing power, display technology, and communication resources allows separate PCs, monitors, and I/O gateways to be omitted, which reduces cabinet volume and wiring.
At its core, a Geode LX800 processor clocked at 500 MHz executes the visualization runtime and user-level IEC routines. The CPU is paired with 128 MB SDRAM of main memory to buffer variables and screens, while an integrated graphics controller accesses 8 MB of dedicated video RAM to refresh animations without taking bandwidth from the CPU. An Intel 82551ER device provides 10/100 Base-T Ethernet for network traffic, and point-to-point links are available through an RS-232 port and two USB host connectors. Mass storage consists of 2 MB of soldered flash for the boot loader plus a CompactFlash Type I slot for application files. The electronics draw 0.45 A at the nominal supply, which supports installation on power-limited panels.
The front side carries a 5.7 in (144 mm) diagonal panel with a resolution of 320 × 240 px. Luminance is specified at 500 cd/m², and the half-brightness life reaches 50,000 h, supporting continuous plant operation. Because the screen is based on TFT color technology, it renders process graphics with stable contrast and hue over wide viewing angles. A sealed aluminum bezel rated to IP65 blocks dust and water jets, so the device can be mounted directly on food-processing, packaging, or outdoor machinery without protective housings.
