Product Description:
B&R Automation supplies the 4PP282.1043-B5 operator interface in the 4PP Power Panels series. The unit is a compact human-machine interface that integrates control electronics, field networking, and a touch display for direct mounting on machinery. In an industrial automation line, it accepts low-voltage DC power, runs embedded software for recipe handling or motion commands, and presents real-time process feedback on the screen for local control tasks.
The front panel carries a 10.4 in color TFT that renders graphics at 640 × 480 pixels; this resolution aligns with VGA standards so existing SCADA images can be reused without scaling. Images and user dialogs are handled by a Geode SC2200 266 MHz 32-bit processor with 64 MB of DRAM and a 4 MB graphics buffer for frame storage. Ethernet connectivity is available at 10/100 Mbps to link the panel with controllers or supervisory PCs, while a single Type I CompactFlash slot provides removable storage for application files. The analog-resistive touch sensor accepts finger or stylus input even when gloves are worn during operation. A brightness rating of 350 cd/m² keeps the screen legible under factory lighting, and the operating system is stored in 2 MB of flash memory so the panel can start without external media.
Total power demand does not exceed 35 W max., allowing the panel to share 24-volt control cabinet supplies, and the input tolerance is 24 VDC ±25% so it remains stable during brief undervoltage events. Two rear USB ports accept keyboards, barcode scanners, or software update drives. All electronics are contained within an enclosure that measures 423 × 288 × 108 mm, and the hardware also includes 256 KB of SRAM for fast register access and an internal watchdog that can recover the system after program faults or communication interruptions.
