The 4PP281.1505-75 is a panel-mounted operator terminal from B & R Automation that belongs to the 4PP Power Panels series. This product combines an integrated controller with a color display, allowing it to handle machine visualization, local recipe management, and basic logic execution in one enclosure. In an automation cell it provides the human–machine interface point, simplifying wiring and reducing cabinet space by embedding the CPU, display, and I/O expansion slot in a single front-end device.
Its computing core is driven by a Geode SC2200 266 MHz processor that includes a 16 KB L1 cache to shorten access times to frequently used instructions. Application data are stored in 64 MB of DRAM, while nonvolatile settings reside in a 2 MB flash memory device and 256 KB of battery-backed SRAM. A shared 4 MB graphics buffer supplies the video controller that renders images on the 15 inch (381 mm) TFT panel at a native resolution of 1024 × 768 pixels; luminance reaches 330 cd/m² for indoor readability. Network connectivity is available through a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port, enabling direct coupling to PLC networks or SCADA hosts. One APci slot permits insertion of a fieldbus or specialty I/O card, extending the unit’s communication or motion capabilities without an external IPC.
The controller operates from a 24 VDC supply. It retains time-stamped data during outages by means of a 950 mAh lithium battery that backs the real-time clock and static RAM. Operator input is captured through an analog resistive touchscreen, a technology selected for durability against oils and gloves common on factory floors. Field maintenance is simplified by the inclusion of an RS232 serial port and a USB 1.1 interface for program updates, recipe uploads, or log retrieval via standard flash drives.
