Product Description:
The 4PP252.0571-85 from B&R Automation belongs to the 4PP Power Panels series and functions as a combined controller and visualization terminal for machine-level automation. Its integrated architecture allows motion sequences, data logging, and operator feedback to be handled by a single device, simplifying cabinet layouts and wiring in production cells, packaging stations, and material-handling modules. This arrangement reduces the number of separate devices required at the machine.
Control performance is delivered by a Geode SC2200, 266 MHz CPU supported by 64 MB DRAM for runtime code and graphics buffering. Program code is stored in 2 MB of flash, while 256 KB of SRAM maintains high-cycle variables between power cycles with help from a 950 mAh lithium backup battery. Two APCI expansion slots accept fieldbus or specialty I/O cards, and one CompactFlash slot enables removable recipe or log storage. External peripherals such as barcode scanners can be attached through two USB host ports. The panel operates from a regulated 24 VDC ±25% supply, feeding the logic, display backlight, and integrated touch controller. Operator feedback appears on a monochrome LCD that measures 5.7 in (144 mm) diagonally and renders process data in a QVGA 320 × 240 pixel matrix, providing adequate resolution for status icons and numeric entry fields.
For usability under factory lighting, the screen reaches a luminance of 140 cd/m². Maximum internal dissipation is limited to 20 W, so forced ventilation is generally unnecessary. The panel measures 302 × 187 × 98 mm, which allows it to fit in relatively shallow enclosures, and the assembly weighs only 2.9 kg, easing door-mounted installation. The LCD's modest backlight demand helps keep thermal loading predictable when USB devices, APCI cards, and a CompactFlash module are used at the same time.
