Product Description:
The 4PP252.0571-45 is a Power Panel produced by B & R Automation in the 4PP Power Panels series. The unit combines a compact controller, communication interfaces, and an LCD monochrome operator display so it can run control tasks while showing process data directly at the machine. By combining visualization, local I/O expansion through a single APCI slot, and panel-mounted installation, it serves as a space-saving human-machine interface for small and mid-size automation systems.
The front face has a 5.7 in diagonal screen with a native resolution of 320 x 240 pixels, giving the operator a clear view of recipes, alarms, and parameter pages. Image readability is supported by a luminance of 140 cd/m² and a contrast ratio of 25:1, which help the display remain legible under typical cabinet lighting. The LCD renders graphics in 8 shades of gray, which is suitable for status icons, trend bars, and simple process graphics on a monochrome interface. Backlight service life is listed as 50,000 h to half brightness, indicating how long the display can operate before brightness drops to half of its initial level. The panel communicates with external PLCs through an RS-232 serial interface and supports data rates up to 115 kBaud. Two downstream USB ports are also available for memory devices or service peripherals, and each port can supply up to 500 mA.
The panel operates from a regulated 24 VDC ±25% input, which suits common control-cabinet power rails, and peak demand remains within 20 W. Its enclosure size of 302 x 187 x 76 mm supports direct mounting in a door cutout, and the 2.6 kg mass helps the unit fit compact operator stations without added support hardware. The aluminum housing protects the internal electronics, and passive cooling removes the need for fans. This fanless arrangement avoids moving parts inside the enclosure and helps the panel remain suitable for confined installation spaces.
