Product Description:
B & R Automation’s 4PP251.1505-75 operator terminal belongs to the 4PP Power Panels series. This HMI combines a TFT touch display with an integrated controller, so a separate PC or PLC is not required at the machine level. Within an automated cell, it provides program execution, visualization, and local recipe storage while communicating upstream to supervisory networks. The panel is typically mounted on enclosures or arm systems and allows operators to issue commands, monitor status values, and adjust process parameters without opening the cabinet.
B & R specifies a regulated input range of 24 VDC ±25%, allowing the panel to run from standard control power supplies in industrial cabinets. The display measures 15 inches (381 mm) across its active area, and the native resolution of 1024 × 768 pixels provides a clear view for detailed graphics. A Geode SC2200 CPU clocked at 266 MHz drives the runtime environment, working with 64 MB of DRAM to host the application, data logger, and real-time operating system. Additional memory includes 2 MB of flash memory, 4 MB dedicated to graphics, and 256 KB of SRAM that retains variables during a controlled shutdown. Serial diagnostics are available through an RS232 interface that transmits up to 115 kBaud.
Visual performance is supported by a luminance of 330 cd/m², a 300:1 contrast ratio, and support for 16.7 million colors, which helps keep images legible under typical plant lighting. Communication to cell controllers or SCADA hosts is handled by an integrated Ethernet adapter rated for 10/100 Mbps, while two USB ports permit recipe transfer or connection of pointing devices. For applications that require uninterrupted alarm display during momentary power loss, the internal battery supplies 950 mAh to the real-time clock and memory retention circuitry. Even with all interfaces active, the panel draws no more than 40 W, allowing passive cooling inside sealed cabinets.
