Product Description:
The 4PP251.1043-B5 is an integrated operator panel and controller manufactured by B&R Automation for the 4PP Power Panels series. Designed for machine-level visualization and control, the unit combines a touchscreen display, an x86-based CPU, local memory, and field communication interfaces so that it can run HMI software while directly handling automation tasks without an external PC. In industrial automation lines, it serves as the local human-machine interface, executes user programs, and exchanges process data with drives, I/O slices, and supervisory networks.
The panel presents a 10.4 in TFT display with a resolution of 640 × 480 pixels, which provides clear space for process graphics while keeping the housing compact. A luminance of 350 cd/m² helps maintain screen readability under typical factory lighting. Computing tasks are handled by a Geode SC2200 266 MHz processor supported by a 16 KB L1 cache, 64 MB of DRAM, and 256 KB of SRAM, giving the runtime system modest but deterministic resources. Program code and user data that must survive power cycles reside in 2 MB of flash, while real-time graphics buffers use 4 MB of shared video memory. Two APCI slots are available for additional fieldbus or motion cards, and the onboard controller includes a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet interface for cell-level networking.
The panel's electrical load never exceeds 25 W, allowing it to share control-cabinet power supplies without requiring a dedicated source. Two USB ports built to the USB 1.1 standard accept memory sticks or service dongles, and the integrated RS-232 channel supports data exchanges up to 115 kBaud for legacy drives or barcode readers. The unit weighs only 5.3 kg, and the cast-aluminum chassis helps protect the electronics from vibration. Low thermal dissipation and simple I/O provide a compact platform for local control, user interaction, and peripheral connectivity.
