Product Description:
The 4PP251.0571-65 is an operator interface from B&R Automation’s 4PP Power Panels series. It integrates a touch-ready graphic display, an embedded controller, and field wiring points so production staff can issue commands, monitor alarms, and fine-tune process variables without a separate PC. In an automation cell, the panel mounts on the cabinet door or machine frame, providing both visualization and local control in a single unit.
Visual output is generated by a color LCD that spans 5.7 in (144 mm) and presents graphics at 320 x 240 pixels. A backlight brightness of 150 cd/m² supports indoor factory lighting, while the rated half-brightness lifetime of 50,000 h gives the expected service period before noticeable dimming. The computing core is a Geode SC2200 running at 266 MHz; this clock drives the real-time task scheduler and 256 kB of battery-backed SRAM used for recipe retention. Volatile working space is provided by 64 MB SDRAM, and application code plus graphics are kept in 2 MB of flash. A Type I CompactFlash slot allows external storage for data logging or software updates.
For networking, the panel includes an Ethernet port that supports 10/100 Mbps communication with PLCs or SCADA servers, a dedicated RS-232 serial channel for legacy devices, and two USB connectors for service sticks or barcode readers. The polyester-coated aluminum front bezel carries a protection rating of IP65, which helps resist dust and low-pressure water jets when the unit is panel-mounted. Input power is supplied at 24 VDC, matching common control-cabinet rails. Additional onboard resources include 64-byte CMOS clock memory, an internal real-time clock powered by a supercapacitor, and discrete status LEDs that indicate processor run, flash access, and communication activity.
