Product Description:
The 4PP220.1043-K14 is a Power Panel operator terminal manufactured by B&R Automation within the 4PP Power Panels series. It combines a compact controller and touchscreen display so operators can issue commands, view process data, and acknowledge alarms directly at the machine. By integrating visualization, control, and communication in one sealed unit, it streamlines panel wiring and reduces the amount of cabinet space needed in factory automation cells. This arrangement also reduces the need for separate HMI hardware and shortens wiring paths between the display and the control functions.
The unit presents process graphics on a TFT color display that delivers 350 cd/m² of luminance and a contrast ratio of 600:1, giving clear images under factory lighting. The VGA resolution of 640 × 480 pixels is rendered across a 10.4 in diagonal, balancing detail with operator reach. A front rating of IP65 / NEMA 250 Type 4X helps protect the display face against dust and water spray during washdown cleaning. Internal electronics are supplied from a single 24 VDC source, simplifying power distribution inside the control cabinet. The CCFL backlight, analog resistive touchscreen, and Hampshire 12-bit controller register finger or gloved input, and two USB 1.1 ports support local data transfer or service access. A single CCFL lamp is used for the backlight to help maintain even screen brightness during operation.
Network connectivity is available through 1 × 10/100 Mbit/s Ethernet for PLC links and remote diagnostics, and point-to-point devices such as barcode scanners can be attached over the RS232 serial interface. The panel operates reliably between 0 to 50 °C, and it can be stored from −20 to 70 °C when powered down. The analog resistive touch layer remains suitable for industrial use across this operating range. Its communications mix supports both networked control and direct serial attachment for legacy peripherals. A gasketed cover protects the front-access connection area and helps preserve the enclosure seal.
