Product Description:
B & R Automation manufactures the 4PP220.0571-L65 operator interface, which belongs to the 4PP Power Panels series. This unit combines visualization, soft-PLC control, and field networking in one enclosure. As a result, machines can be supervised, commanded, and diagnosed directly at the cabinet door or on a mounting arm without a separate industrial PC.
The panel presents data on a 5.7 in (144 mm) TFT that renders at 320 x 240 pixels, giving basic graphics fidelity for recipe selection, alarm lists, and trending. A Geode SC2200 266 MHz processor executes IEC 61131 logic while the integrated 64 MB of DRAM holds the runtime kernel, variables, and web objects. Communications include a switched Ethernet port rated at 10/100 Mbps, one 115 kBaud RS232/RS485 serial channel, two USB host ports for service sticks or barcode readers, and a single APCI expansion slot that accepts fieldbus cards. Non-volatile resources consist of 2 MB of flash memory for the operating system and 256 KB of SRAM that retains critical data during a power cycle.
The aluminum front bezel carries a IP65 / NEMA 250 Type 4X seal so washdown spray or dust does not disturb the electronics when the unit is panel mounted. Control boards are powered from a 24 VDC ±25% source and draw up to 17 W maximum, a level suited for compact 24 V control supplies. The touchscreen supports finger or stylus entry and uses analog resistive touch input, with a service life of more than five million operations. Overall dimensions of 212 × 156 × 76 mm permit installation in shallow cabinets, while the 150 cd/m² brightness keeps the display readable on production floors lit by fluorescents. The APCI slot, the flash memory, and the dual USB ports can be accessed after removing the rear cover, simplifying upgrades and service.
