Product Description:
The 4PP220.0571-K06 operator panel is produced by B&R Automation as a member of the 4PP Power Panels series. This unit combines visualization, user input, and controller access in a single enclosure, allowing machine operators to issue commands, monitor status, and adjust parameters directly at the production line. By integrating an embedded PC with a touchscreen display, it reduces cabinet wiring and setup time in factory automation cells. It is well suited for local interface tasks where status display, alarm acknowledgment, and parameter entry must be available at the machine.
The panel provides a 5.7 in diagonal display with a QVGA resolution, giving a 320 × 240-pixel workspace suitable for status graphics and alarm lists. Input is captured through a Resistive touchscreen, so gloved operation is possible without capacitive coupling. Application programs reside in 64 MB of SDRAM, while retentive data such as recipe values is stored in 256 kB of SRAM. A dedicated Type I CompactFlash slot accepts removable media for project transfer or extended storage, and one APCI expansion slot allows installation of specialized I/O cards when additional fieldbus connectivity is required. User maintenance is supported through a RS232 serial port that can act as a service console during setup and diagnostics.
Networking to higher-level controllers is handled by a built-in Ethernet interface that auto-negotiates at 10/100 Mbps, enabling remote diagnostics or data collection through standard TCP/IP protocols. Two USB host ports simplify the connection of removable media, barcode readers, or a service keyboard. These ports also allow local transfer of application files and archived data without requiring a separate workstation. The electronics are powered from a 24 VDC supply, so the panel can share the same low-voltage rail as PLC I/O modules and avoid a separate mains transformer.
