Product Description:
The 4PP220.0571-A5 is an operator panel manufactured by B&R Automation for the 4PP Power Panels series. Intended for mid-size machinery, the product merges visualization, control logic, and field networking within one enclosure, eliminating the need for a separate industrial PC. In plant environments, it operates as the human-machine interface that renders process graphics, accepts keypad or touchscreen input, and forwards status data to programmable controllers through its onboard ports. This arrangement allows display, input, and machine communication to remain in a single panel at the operating position.
Computation is handled by a Geode SC2200 266 MHz 32-bit x86 processor, backed by 64 MB of DRAM and 256 KB of SRAM for transient variables, while a 2 MB flash device stores the application image. Graphics are shown on a QVGA panel that renders 320 × 240 px, and the backlight produces 150 cd/m² for indoor readability. Two APCI expansion slots accommodate optional I/O or fieldbus modules. Standard communication includes an Ethernet port that negotiates 10/100 Mbps for peer-to-peer or SCADA links, an RS232 channel capable of 115 kBaud for legacy drives, and two USB connectors that source 500 mA each for service tools or data storage devices.
The panel draws logic power from a 24 VDC supply and consumes up to 17 W at full processor and backlight load, allowing it to share low-voltage rails with sensors and micro-drives. Its front glass spans 5.7 in (144 mm), while the overall enclosure measures 212 × 156 × 98 mm so it can mount directly on a cabinet door without deep cutouts. Serial supervision, Ethernet messaging, USB service access, and APCI expansion are integrated in the same enclosure, so the unit can be mounted close to the machine frame.
