The 4PP220.0571-45 operator terminal is produced by B & R Automation for the 4PP Power Panels series. It integrates a compact control computer and a 5.7-inch touch display into one enclosure so users can issue commands, visualize process data, and acknowledge alarms directly at the machine. This combination removes the need for separate PLC and HMI hardware in many small- to medium-sized automation cells. Because control and visualization are housed together, the panel can be mounted close to the process where local input and status viewing are needed most.

The internal Geode SC2200 processor runs at 266 MHz, providing the computing speed used for logic execution and screen updates. Its passive monochrome LCD measures 5.7 in diagonally, and a resolution of 320 × 240 px provides the pixel grid for text and graphic elements. Up to 2 MB of flash memory stores application code and recipes, while 256 kB of SRAM retains buffered variables through a super-cap backup circuit. The front panel carries an IP65 rating, which helps protect the touch layer against dust and water jets during normal machine use. A regulated input of 24 VDC powers the processor, display backlight, and interface electronics without an additional conversion stage.

For communication and service access, the panel includes network and local peripheral connections in the same housing. The cold-cathode backlight maintains 140 cd/m² until it reaches its half-brightness time of 50,000 h, supporting long operating life in multi-shift production. An integrated Ethernet controller transmits process variables at up to 100 Mbit/s, and two USB ports allow parameter backup to removable media. The cast-aluminum housing measures 212 × 156 × 76 mm and weighs 1700 g, which keeps the unit suitable for door mounting while providing a rigid structure that helps limit vibration.
