Product Description:
The 4PP220.0571 is a Power Panel manufactured by B&R Automation for the 4PP Power Panels series. This unit combines a small-format touchscreen operator interface with an integrated controller, so it can run application logic and present process data in one enclosure. Within an automation cell, it serves as a decentralized HMI and PLC, reducing cabinet space and field wiring because the display, processor, and I/O communication are packaged together. The compact arrangement suits machines that need local control and direct operator access at the point of use.
The panel’s computing core is a Geode SC2200 266 MHz processor that executes the user program and graphics runtime. Task data and system files reside in 64 MB of main memory, while recipe files can be stored on the Type I CompactFlash slot. The electronics are powered by a 24 VDC ±25% supply commonly used in machine control cabinets, and the unit draws an inrush current of 20 A for less than 1 ms at startup. After startup, typical power draw settles at 12 W, allowing the panel to remain on an auxiliary 24 V rail without overloading a low-power supply. RS232 communication is available at up to 115 kBaud, and two USB 1.1 ports allow service uploads or scanner connection without opening the enclosure.
User interaction is handled through a 5.7 in (144 mm) analog-resistive touchscreen that presents graphics at 320 × 240 pixels. Data exchange with higher-level networks occurs on the integrated Ethernet interface at 10/100 Mbps, so the panel can serve web diagnostics or act as a Modbus TCP slave. The aluminum front bezel has a rating of IP65 / NEMA 250 type 4X, permitting washdown when mounted in a control panel door, and the device maintains full functionality from 0 to +50 °C. Two USB connections on the underside, along with the serial port, remain inside the cabinet and therefore do not compromise the front protection grade.
