The 4PP220.0143-75 is an operator-panel computer produced by B&R Automation as part of the 4PP Power Panels series. It combines visualization, input, and control functions in a single enclosure, allowing machine builders to mount a compact human-machine interface directly on a cabinet door or swing arm. Through this panel, program logic, motion control commands, and status information are presented to operators without the need for a separate PC, which helps simplify industrial automation layouts.
Core processing relies on a Geode SC2200 CPU that runs at 266 MHz. This clock rate sets the pace for PLC tasks and local graphics handling. The system includes 64 MB of SDRAM for dynamic data, while configuration files are stored in 2 MB of flash memory and frequently accessed variables are buffered in 256 kB of SRAM to retain values across reboots. Networking is available at 10/100 Mbit/s over Ethernet for peer communication, and a dedicated RS-232 serial interface supports legacy drives or barcode scanners. Two USB ports accommodate removable media or service keyboards, and the panel accepts a 24 VDC ±25% supply so it can share a common low-voltage bus with sensors and I/O modules. A Hampshire 12-bit resistive touch controller digitizes operator input, allowing menu navigation even with gloved hands.
The visualization layer is built around a 10.4 in TFT that renders VGA graphics at 640 x 480 pixels. A CCFL backlight delivers uniform illumination and is rated for 55,000 h before replacement becomes necessary, which supports long service intervals. The screen can display alarms, trends, and machine diagnostics with clear text and basic graphical detail.
