Product Description:
The 4PP220-0571-K22 operator terminal is produced by B&R Automation within the 4PP Power Panels series. Designed as an all-in-one controller and visualization unit, it mounts on the front door of a control enclosure and serves as the local human-machine interface for PLC-based systems. The product combines processing electronics, display, and touch input so operators can start, monitor, and adjust machine sequences without an external computer. This arrangement keeps local control and screen-based interaction in one housing and reduces the need for separate panel devices.
At the front of the unit, a TFT color screen measures 5.7 in diagonally and renders graphics at 320 × 240 pixel QVGA resolution, providing sufficient detail for status tables, alarm pages, and simple trend curves. Graphics are stored and executed in 64 MB of SDRAM, leaving room for moderate-sized control programs and alarm histories. The electronics run from a 24 VDC supply so the panel can share the same low-voltage rail as standard I/O modules. An aluminum bezel rated IP65 when correctly gasketed protects the display against dust and water jets, allowing mounting on packaging lines or wash-down conveyor stations. The analog-resistive touchscreen accepts input from gloved fingers or a stylus, and the touch surface supports reliable target selection during local operation.
In addition to the volatile memory, the panel integrates 256 kB of battery-backed SRAM for recipe parameters that must survive reboots. Program updates are loaded through a CompactFlash slot that accepts Type I cards, while operator data can be exported through two USB ports on the rear connector panel. For legacy controllers, a built-in RS232 interface provides point-to-point communication at standard baud rates. Storage temperatures range from -20 °C to 70 °C, allowing the device to tolerate warehouse transit and cold-start situations. The rear connector layout keeps service access separate from the display area, which helps preserve the sealed front surface during normal use.
