Product Description:
B & R Automation manufactures the 4PP181.1043-31 as part of its 4PP Power Panels series. This unit combines operator interface functions with an integrated controller, so it can drive equipment directly from the cabinet door without a separate PC. The panel is intended for industrial automation cells that need compact visualization, recipe handling, and local program execution through a resistive touchscreen. By embedding processing, display, and communication hardware in one enclosure, it reduces wiring and panel depth while keeping control resources close to sensors and actuators.
The display measures 10.4 inches on the diagonal and shows graphics at 640 x 480 pixels, allowing clear depiction of process status and alarm lists. Screen content is supported by 350 cd/m² of brightness and a 600:1 contrast ratio, which keeps symbols legible under factory lighting. System memory includes 64 MB of DRAM for variables and logic execution, plus 2 MB of Flash for system and application storage. A Geode SC2200 processor runs at 266 MHz on a 32-bit x86 architecture, giving deterministic cycle times for motion or PID tasks. For plant networking, the built-in Ethernet port supports 10/100 Mbps transfer rates, while asynchronous links reach 115 kBaud for legacy devices. Two USB 1.1 connectors accept service sticks or barcode scanners, and the analog resistive touchscreen recognizes gloved inputs.
Front sealing meets IP65, so dust and water jets cannot reach internal circuits when the panel is installed from the front of a cabinet. The LCD has a half-brightness life of 55,000 hours, which helps extend service intervals in continuous-run production lines. The electronics draw a maximum of 23 W and operate from a control voltage of 24 VDC ±25%, matching standard machine power buses. Outer dimensions of 323 × 358 × 65.5 mm simplify retrofits, and total power remains within most cabinet heat budgets.
