Product Description:
The 4PP180.1505-31 operator panel is an integrated human-machine interface from B&R Automation within the 4PP Power Panels series. Designed for mounting on cabinet doors, it combines visualization hardware with an embedded controller to supervise real-time machine sequences, accept operator commands, and display process diagnostics on the production floor. Using resistive touch input, it replaces discrete pushbuttons and lamps, simplifying wiring in automated cells.
It presents a 15 in Color TFT screen that renders graphics at 1024 x 768 pixels, so detailed mimics and alarm lists remain legible. Backlighting supplies 330 cd/m² of luminance, while a 300:1 contrast ratio maintains clarity in brightly lit workshops. The panel can show 16.7 million colors, enabling precise status coding of objects. User input is captured through an analog, resistive touch layer that responds to gloved operation. Mechanical integration uses a 415 x 312 mm cutout, and the aluminum front forms a 435 x 330 x 71.5 mm envelope when installed. A Geode SC2200, 266 MHz 32-bit x86 CPU drives the local runtime system and fieldbus gateways without external PCs.
System resources include 64 MB of DRAM for application code, 2 MB of flash memory, and 2 MB of shared graphics memory that buffers screen redraws during rapid animation. An onboard Ethernet controller supports 10/100 Mbps communication for PLC networking and remote diagnostics, eliminating separate gateway modules. Electrical design limits heat dissipation to 38 W at full screen brightness, so passive ventilation is usually sufficient inside a standard control cabinet. The electronics are powered from a single 24 VDC supply, allowing the panel to share the same SELV rail used by sensors and I/O modules.
