B&R Automation manufactures the 4PP Power Panels series, which includes the panel 4PP152.0571-21. The unit combines an embedded controller, operator keypad, and color display in one enclosure, giving machine builders a compact human-machine interface. Mounted directly on a press, conveyor, or robotic cell, it presents process values, accepts setpoints, and routes them to the drive network, so the main control cabinet can be smaller and diagnostic access remains at the machine front. Its integrated design reduces panel depth and protects electronics at the machine level.
The integrated Geode SC2200 CPU runs at 266 MHz on a 32-bit x86 architecture, supplying deterministic cycle times for local logic. Graphics are shown on a 5.7 in color LCD that delivers 320 × 240 pixels in QVGA format and a luminance of 150 cd/m², providing clear status images in typical factory lighting. Application code, recipes, or logs can be transferred by a front-accessible CompactFlash Type I card. A dedicated RS-232 port operating at up to 115 kBaud links scanners or legacy drives without protocol converters. The electronics accept a stabilized 24 VDC ±25% supply, allowing the unit to share power rails with sensors and relays.
The front bezel meets IP65 / NEMA 250 type 4X, so it can be exposed to splashing coolants while the rear remains inside the cabinet. Ethernet connectivity reaches 10/100 Mbps, enabling recipe downloads or remote diagnostics over standard twisted-pair cabling. For service tasks, operators may attach thumb drives or keyboards to the panel's 2 USB ports, which comply with the USB 1.1 standard.
