Product Description:
4PP120.0571-01/PL3 is a human-machine interface produced by B&R Automation for the 4PP Power Panels series. The unit integrates a monochrome touch display, onboard processing, and field communication in one enclosure, allowing machine operators to issue commands and monitor status directly at the equipment. In factory lines or process skids, the panel serves as the local control point that links front-end user inputs to the PLC or motion controller without separate PCs. It is designed for panel-mount installation and consolidates visualization, data entry, and basic logic in a compact format suited to distributed automation architectures.
The operator surface uses an LCD monochrome screen with a diagonal of 5.7 in (144 mm). Its native resolution of 320 × 240 pixels supplies enough detail for text, trending, and alarm icons, while the 25:1 contrast ratio suits the panel’s grayscale display. A luminance of 140 cd/m² keeps the image legible under typical indoor lighting. Touch input is captured through analog, resistive technology, so gloved interaction remains possible. The display section draws little power, and the total panel budget does not exceed 15 W, which helps simplify cabinet thermal design.
Behind the sealed front, the panel uses a Geode SC2200 266 MHz processor to run the control runtime and handle graphics, fieldbus drivers, and user logic. Electrical supply is a single 24 VDC ±25% line, and ingress protection is rated at IP65, so mounting on a machine door does not require an additional cover. Serial communication is provided through RS232 with data rates up to 115 kBaud for drive or barcode reader links. Two rear USB connectors each permit a current load of 500 mA for memory sticks or service tools. Physical dimensions of 212 × 156 × 55.5 mm keep the housing shallow for compact cabinets.
