Product Description:
The 4PP065.IF23-1 belongs to the 4PP Power Panels series produced by B & R Automation. As an embedded control terminal, it combines processing, display, and fieldbus connections so a machine can run motion sequences and show operating prompts from a single compact device. Mounted inside an electrical cabinet, the panel acts as a local node that translates high-level program logic into real-time I/O updates while providing a local interface for operation and diagnostics in industrial automation lines.
On the CAN bus side, the panel uses a 4-pin male multipoint connector and is driven by the SJA 1000 stand-alone CAN controller, enabling deterministic message processing. With low-loss cabling, the CAN segment can span up to 1000 m while sustaining a maximum transfer rate of 1 Mbit/s, and a switchable termination resistor is already integrated into the module. Serial diagnostics are supported through a 9-pin DSUB connector that shares physical space with the IF2 interface. The port relies on a UART that is 16C550-compatible, provides a 16-byte FIFO in each direction, and implements RTS/CTS hardware handshaking to maintain data integrity. For file downloads, parameter backups, and console access, the RS-232 channel reaches up to 115.2 kbit/s without character loss.
For networked drives or distributed sensors, the optional RS-485/RS-422 lines cover installations up to 500 m and match the RS-232 speed ceiling of 115.2 kbit/s, with impedance-matched termination already built into the board to remove the need for external resistors. During assembly, the housing is fixed to the panel cutout with fastening torque limited to 0.6 Nm, which helps prevent stress on the plastic frame. The enclosure has an IP20 rating, which confirms finger-safe access and no sealing against liquids, so the unit is intended for sheltered cabinet interiors. Despite its multiple interfaces, the power panel weighs only 57 g, which reduces load on light enclosures and supports mounting on compact operator arms.
