The 4PP065.1043-K09 operator panel is produced by B&R Automation within the 4PP Power Panels series. It functions as a human-machine interface, giving operators a graphical window into programmable controllers and drive systems so that setpoints, status messages, and alarms can be viewed or modified directly on the machine. The panel is intended for installation where a local control surface is needed near the process. This arrangement lets operators review active conditions and respond to routine machine events without leaving the equipment.
Visualization clarity comes from a color TFT display that supports full-tone graphics instead of monochrome icons. The panel is powered from a control cabinet supply of 24 VDC, allowing it to share the same low-voltage rail used by sensors and logic modules. The display format also supports readable status, menu, and alarm pages during operation. For operator input, a combined touchscreen and keypad arrangement is available; the touch surface handles quick menu navigation while the hard keys provide tactile feedback for frequently used commands. Expansion is handled through a backplane that includes 1 slot for an optional interface module, enabling fieldbus or additional I/O to be added without replacing the entire unit. Application data and recipe files are stored on a removable CompactFlash card, which allows quick media replacement when stored information must be transferred.
User settings that must survive power cycles are preserved in 32 kB of remanent variable memory, preventing loss of counters, offsets, or batch identifiers when the machine is shut down. The panel offers a 10.4 in diagonal, giving adequate screen area for multi-layer process diagrams while remaining compact enough for door mounting. Its touch surface ships precalibrated, so pointer accuracy is available without local adjustment. An integrated X2X interface links the panel to B&R controllers over the high-speed system bus, providing deterministic data exchange for real-time diagnostics and command execution.
