Product Description:
The 4PP065.0571-X74F operator panel is produced by B & R Automation within the 4PP Power Panels series. It combines an integrated CPU, memory subsystem, and graphical display so that a single device can perform PLC tasks, visualize process variables, and receive touch input on the machine front. By merging these functions, the panel streamlines installation in packaging, assembly, and material-handling systems where a distributed controller and user interface are required. The panel mounts in the cabinet door or directly on an equipment frame, leaving the rear free for field wiring.
The computing section uses a Geode LX800 32-bit x86 processor clocked at 500 MHz, giving adequate cycle times for medium-sized control programs and visualization objects. Operating code is held in 128 MB DDR SDRAM, while 232 kB of battery-backed SRAM stores retentive variables between power cycles. A Type I CompactFlash slot allows application updates and recipe storage. The display measures 5.7 in diagonally and renders graphics at 320 × 240 px with 262,144 colors, while luminance reaches 500 cd/m² for indoor readability. An analog resistive touchscreen overlays the panel so operators can execute commands even when wearing thin industrial gloves. During normal operation, the electronics draw 0.45 A from the regulated supply.
Electrical input is tolerated from 24 VDC ±25%, enabling the panel to run from typical control-cabinet power rails. The aluminum bezel and gasket provide a front rating of IP65, so dust and low-pressure water jets cannot penetrate when the unit is properly installed. Integrated communications include an Ethernet controller that negotiates at 10/100 Mbit/s for linkage to SCADA systems or remote I/O. Two downstream ports conform to USB 2.0, simplifying connection of programming dongles or data-logging drives without external hubs. The panel also includes an RS-232 service interface for setup and diagnostics.
