Product Description:
B&R Automation’s 4PP065.0571 is an integrated controller and visualization unit in the 4PP Power Panels series. Designed as a compact HMI, the device combines PLC functionality with a touch display so machine builders can run control logic and present process data on the same front end. Mounted in electrical cabinets or on operator stations, it provides a local interface for command entry, status feedback, and recipe selection in automated production lines, packaging equipment, and material-handling work cells.
The panel is driven by a Geode LX800 32-bit x86 processor running at 500 MHz, enabling deterministic code execution within the VxWorks or B&R Automation Runtime environment. Its main memory consists of 128 MB DDR SDRAM, which is sufficient for medium-sized control programs and trend buffers, while a separate 4 MB flash section stores the operating system image. Operators view information on a 5.7 in (144 mm) TFT display, and the 1/4-VGA resolution of 320 × 240 px matches legacy graphics libraries used in Automation Studio. Readability under factory lighting is supported by a luminance of 500 cd/m² and a contrast ratio of 350:1. The electronics are supplied through a stabilized 24 VDC feed, allowing the unit to share the low-voltage control bus that powers sensors, relays, and field I/O without an additional converter.
A single CompactFlash Type I slot is provided for recipe storage and data transfer, and the analog-resistive touch screen permits gloved operation even when ambient moisture is present. The unit has 2 × USB 2.0 front-accessible ports for data logging to memory sticks or for connecting barcode readers. Typical energy draw is only 10 W, which helps reduce heat inside sealed cabinets, and passive convection cooling is adequate because the housing weighs just 0.75 kg. With overall dimensions of 203 × 145 × 56.5 mm, the panel fits shallow door cutouts while still leaving clearance for field wiring and service loops.
