B&R Automation’s 4PP045.0571-K20 is a panel-mounted operator terminal from the 4PP Power Panels series. By combining a display module, embedded controller, and direct-actuation keys inside one enclosure, it serves as the primary human-machine interface on packaging lines, conveyors, and other automated equipment. The unit communicates process data to the user and forwards setpoints or acknowledgments back to the control network, eliminating the need for a separate industrial PC. Because the control and display functions are combined, machine information can be viewed and acknowledged from one point on the enclosure door.

The front of the panel carries a 5.7 in TFT screen that renders graphics at 320 × 240 pixels, providing enough area for status icons and alarm dialogs. An analog resistive touch surface sits above the display, enabling finger or stylus input even when gloves are worn. Ten dedicated function keys supplement the touch input for frequently used commands, which can reduce the number of screen changes needed during routine operation. For removable storage, the unit offers a CompactFlash slot for one Type I card, while two USB 2.0 ports support service peripherals. The electronics are powered from a single 24 VDC ±25% source, and the faceplate is rated IP65 Front / IP20 Back for use in a sealed cabinet door.

Internally, the Power Panel is equipped with 64 MB DRAM for program execution and data buffers, plus 48 kB of battery-backed SRAM to retain recipe parameters during power loss. Network integration is handled by a 1 × 10/100 Mbit/s Ethernet interface located beside a PP45 Compact IF slot that accepts fieldbus or serial option cards. The aluminum housing measures 203 × 145 × 55 mm and weighs only 0.5 kg, so it can be mounted on light doors without extra reinforcement. Reliable operation is specified between 0 °C and 50 °C, covering the temperature range commonly found in control-cabinet environments.
