Product Description:
The 4PP045.0571-062 is a compact operator panel produced by B & R Automation as part of the 4PP Power Panels series. Designed for machine-level visualization and control, the unit combines an embedded controller with an integrated display and input surface, which helps reduce cabinet space and wiring. Within an automation cell, it serves as the human-machine interface, executes user programs locally, and presents process data during normal operation, startup, and troubleshooting. Its integrated format keeps the display, control electronics, and operator inputs in one front-mounted unit, which suits compact machine stations.
Front-side interaction is provided by a 5.7 in (144 mm) color display that outputs 320 x 240 pixels. The panel generates a luminance of 140 cd/m², offering sufficient readability in standard indoor lighting. Because the screen is a Color LCD, it can render 512 distinct colors for status graphics, alarm icons, and basic trend views. Ten labeled function keys sit beneath the bezel for frequently used commands, and an analog resistive touch layer lets the user acknowledge dialogs with a gloved fingertip. A single Type I CompactFlash slot allows recipe files and application data to be loaded without a separate computer, and 48 kB of SRAM is retained for nonvolatile variables.
Control tasks are handled by an ELAN SC520 100 MHz processor that works with 64 MB DRAM for code execution, screen buffering, and local data handling. Two USB 2.0 Type A ports support accessories such as removable storage or a printer, while a 10/100 Mbit/s Ethernet interface links the panel to higher-level control equipment; when shorter deterministic cycles are needed, a 4-pin X2X link can be used instead. The enclosure has an IP65 Front / IP20 Rear rating, so the device may be flush-mounted in a cabinet door with only the gasketed face exposed to washdown. Power-on self-tests check the CompactFlash card, the retained SRAM, and the response of all ten function keys before the application starts.
