Product Description:
The 4PP015.C420-01 operator terminal is produced by B&R Automation for the 4PP Power Panels series. It integrates a programmable controller, local I/O, and a text-based human-machine interface into one compact unit, letting machine builders mount control and visualization hardware directly on a cabinet door. The panel runs process logic, shows status information on its LCD, and accepts commands through a sealed keypad, streamlining small-to-mid-range automation tasks.
I/O capacity includes 16 digital input channels that sample field signals and 16 digital output channels that actuate solenoids or relays. Real-time execution is maintained by an instruction cycle time of 0.8 µs, so logic branches finish within microseconds. The panel exchanges data with drives and sensors over CAN at up to 500 kbit/s, while an RS-232 port supports 115.2 kbit/s for diagnostics. Operators view process data on a four-line, 20-character display and use 26 membrane keys for function entry. A sealed aluminum bezel provides IP65 front protection, enabling installation in dusty or washdown areas. Physical size is limited to 153 × 120 × 46.1 mm, and overall power draw does not exceed 6 W, which eases thermal and power budgeting inside compact control enclosures.
The electronics receive power from a 24 VDC bus commonly used in industrial cabinets. Each high-side driver can source 0.5 A, and the combined limit is 8 A to protect the wiring. Boot firmware occupies 448 kB of system FlashPROM, while user application code is stored in a dedicated 1024 kByte FlashPROM block. Dynamic variables are retained in 300 kB SRAM, preserving machine states through brief power interruptions when a backup battery is present. These memory resources allow the panel to host sizable programs and data sets without requiring external storage.
