Product Description:
The 4PP015.420-01 is an integrated control and visualization device manufactured by B & R Automation for the 4PP Power Panels series. It functions as both a PLC-class CPU and an operator terminal, so it can execute application code, accept field signals, and display process data without additional hardware. The panel is intended for mounting on machine fronts where space is limited and quick local interaction with drives, sensors, and safety relays is required in automated production lines.
The controller operates from a nominal supply of 24 VDC and draws no more than 6 W under full load, permitting direct connection to common 24-volt control circuits. Program execution is paced by an instruction cycle time of 0.8 µs, allowing rapid response to input changes that arrive through its 20 kHz encoder channel or through high-speed fieldbus frames at 500 kbit/s on CAN and 115.2 kbit/s on RS-232. Application variables reside in 300 kB SRAM, while firmware and user programs are stored in a nonvolatile 1024 kB FlashPROM; these resources support medium-sized motion or process tasks. Each sourcing transistor output can deliver up to 0.5 A, so the unit can drive indicator lamps, relays, or solenoid valves directly while monitoring the digital inputs for status and interlocks.
User interaction is provided by a monochrome LCD that presents machine states over 4 × 20 characters. Sixteen tactile keys accompany the screen for menu navigation and command entry, and the front bezel carries an IP65 rating, enabling washdown cleaning when the panel is gasket-mounted. The unit combines 16 digital inputs and 16 digital outputs with visualization in a housing that measures 153 × 120 × 46.1 mm. Its compact housing fits inside operator stations, electrical enclosures, or pendant arms while preserving access to the display and keypad. The integrated design also reduces the need to allocate separate mounting space for a controller and an operator terminal.
