Product Description:
The 4PP015.0420-36 is a compact power panel produced by B & R Automation for the 4PP Power Panels series. It combines an operator display and PLC in one housing for mounting on machine fronts. In operation, it supervises discrete and analog signals, executes control logic, and provides local visualization within industrial automation cells. Its compact format suits operator stations where panel space is limited.
This panel operates from a 24 VDC supply and can source up to 0.5 A on its switched outputs. Internally, a processor with a cycle time of 0.8 µs handles the user program stored in 448 kB of System FlashPROM, 1024 kB of User FlashPROM, and 300 kB of SRAM. This memory arrangement separates system storage, user storage, and working memory during operation. The control section includes 8 digital inputs and eight digital outputs for connection to sensors and actuators, while two event counters timestamp high-speed signals without adding load to the CPU. Operator feedback is provided on a black-and-white LCD, and its resolution of 4 × 20 characters fits concise status lines and parameter menus. The display is protected by a sealed membrane, and the monochrome screen helps keep power draw low.
The I/O layer is supplemented by analog circuitry that accepts and drives signals in the range of ±10 V, allowing closed-loop control of proportional valves or external drives. For networking, a CAN bus node supports data exchange at up to 500 kbit/s, and a separate RS-232 port reaches 115.2 kbit/s for configuration or diagnostic links. The combination of CAN bus and RS-232 lets the panel exchange data with both networked devices and point-to-point serial equipment. The molded front bezel meets IP65, so it resists dust and water jets when mounted in a properly gasketed panel cutout.
